Bushiri charity: PROPHET BUSHIRI ANNOUNCES K1BN TO CHARITY, TARGETING MALAWI AND SOUTH AFRICA.
Founder and leader of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) and President of Shepherd Bushiri Investments (SBI), Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, on Monday announced that for the remaining half of 2017, he has set aside K1 billion for charity. The target for this charity is vulnerable people in the nations of Malawi and South Africa.
The gesture is a continuation of Prophet Bushiri’s ongoing philanthropy which, in the first half of the year, he disbursed about US$800,000 into projects targeting vulnerable people in the nations of Malawi, Nigeria, Cameroon, and Nicaragua.

In this last half, the Prophet, apart from his usual Malawi destination, has added South Africa, specifically Cape Town, because the city, lately, experienced drought and fire disasters that have ravaged livelihoods of many communities.
Knysna and surrounding areas in Western Cape, were engulfed by a devastating blaze, which the Western Cape Disaster Management Centre described “one of the most destructive blazes in recent memory.” According to reports, up to 20 suburbs were hit and more than 10,000 people were evacuated from their homes.
On the other hand, Malawi has, recently, been indexed as one of the poorest countries in the world, with the majority of the population, living in stinging poverty.
“We will be building or renovating homes, for some of those whose houses were washed away. We will be providing start-ups to some of those whose businesses were destroyed. And we will be providing relief items to some of those who are old, young and incapable to fend for themselves,” Prophet Bushiri said.
Apart from Cape Town, the charity projects will reach out to the city of Rustenburg, where three orphan care centers have been identified to be helped with spiritual, material, and financial support.
After South Africa, the Prophet will, again, fly to Malawi where he will continue, on what he started in June – supporting orphan care centers with spiritual, and financial support.
In June, the Prophet visited two orphanages and made donations amounting to MK10 million in Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe.
Prophet Bushiri said he will target orphanages in the Northern and Southern regions.
Besides orphanages, the Prophet will also use this last half of 2017 to finalise work on the secondary school he is constructing in Rumphi District.
Prophet Bushiri underlined that giving has always been part of his calling.
After Malawi and South Africa, the next destination will be Botswana, Zambia and Kenya.
