[TUESDAY, 06 AUGUST]
PARACH DAILY DEVOTIONAL [TUESDAY, 06 AUGUST] “MOVE ON”
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY:
“The Lord, our God, said to us at Horeb, ‘You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites… and to Lebanon as far as the great river, the Euphrates.'”– DEUTERONOMY 1:6-7
Mount Horeb was a place where the Israelites went through various battles, and they were failing to move away from there. According to the Bible in the verse mentioned above, God Himself was saying to them that they had overstayed. He desired for them to advance and go to a different and better place.
Many Christians have stayed in the same position for a long time. Some have been there for years. It could be that they have dwelt on the mountain of sickness, poverty, and lack for a long time. Maybe they have tried praying, fasting and even worshipping to see their situations change, yet to no avail.
I want to encourage you today that just as it was with the Israelites, God was in that situation waiting for His own time. Until when will you be drinking medicine or borrowing money, sinning, and repenting? Today, God has seen that you have overstayed in your problems. You need to move on. Yes, God has seen you and is moving you from a lower mountain to a higher elevation, where everyone will see your light because you are the light of the world, a city built on a hill (Matthew 5:14-16). People will see you shining.
God has watched what you have been going through, and He saw in you a spirit of long-suffering and endurance. However, the time has come for you to move on and get out of the situation you are in. Sometimes you may think what you already have is enough. You need to be where they will see God’s glory upon your life. You may not understand what you are going through, but God has prepared a higher mountain for you. Go and possess your job, marriage, money, and position. Tell God, “I want to move on; I am tired of being in the same place.” Allow God to exalt you; let Him intervene and arise you.
“Lord, thank You for my time at the small mountain. As You are calling me to action, give me the confidence I need to get to another level. Spirit of God, Fire of the Holy Ghost, I thank You for reigning supreme in my life. Thank You for descending upon my life with power and for consuming every chain that tied me to the same place and opposed my progression. Through You, I have moved upwards and forward. Through You, I have been promoted and elevated. I testify that I am a new person because of You. To You, be all the glory and honour, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
