Like in the years before this one, every individual registration center will receive the GCE 2022 broadcast Form G4/T4 having on them the candidate’s full names. On this form, we shall see every paper undertaken by the student and the grade they scored in each of them. Attached to this form will be the GCE results 2022 slips which on them have the results of the candidate and will be later on distributed to them. The responsibility of sharing the results is reserved for the Chief of center and thus the GCE board sends him all the slips. If there are any errors found after the collection of the slip, complaints will need to be channeled to the GCE board through the chief of center. The board shall then go through the complaints and rectify them accordingly. Results of students could be communicated to higher institutions and other establishments without any prior permission from the student.

Inquiries on the GCE results

For all candidates who went through with the exam, the marking of the papers and the publication of the results are final. The board will only communicate the results of a certain candidate to a parent or guardian in the most exceptional of cases.

As mentioned above, complaints directed to the board regarding the GCE results 2022 must, first of all, pass through the chief of center who will serve as a middleman between the candidate and the board. The complaints may be considered if there is a significant deviation from the results expected from the said due to the regular assessments carried out throughout the year. You can obtain the details of what is required to file a complaint and the charges you will incur directly from the GCE Board.

Award of the GCE results Certificates

The GCE Board has the power to retain or nullify any certificate without having to answer to anyone. It possesses the sole discretion on the giving out of the certificates to the candidates.

The result certificate remains the property of the board and thus no candidate or individual has the right to change any aspect of the information found on them.

For every given year, the certificate will contain all the subjects the candidate sat for and the respective grades he scored on all of them. Candidates that partook in both the Ordinary and the Advanced Level, will be awarded two distinct certificates.

The certificates are made available six months after the release of the GCE results 2022. This will be done in the various registration centers to ease the distribution of the candidates. If the candidates are not available to collect their certificate, they could assign someone who has legal authorization to collect it for them.

For the candidates that registered externally (external candidates), they are to report to their various registration centers with national identity cards to withdraw their GCE results 2022 certificates.

All candidates, both internal and external, are required to collect their certificates at their various registration centers before the end of March the following year. The certificates that would not be collected after the set time will be sent back to the GCE Board regional offices in both Bamenda and Buea. Candidates that have not collected their certificates at this time will be required to do so directly from the board. They will have to pay a fee and will have to present their national identity card.

Specificities of the GCE examinations

The GCE Ordinary Level

Set on the coursework program that runs from form one to form five, it is the lower of the two GCE examinations. This five-year course mainly applies to regular secondary schools as some special schools offer advanced programs in which a candidate can be able to write the exam in three years.

The GCE ordinary level offers twenty-one subjects for the candidates to choose from. The maximum number of papers a candidate can offer is eleven while the minimum is six. For a candidate to pass this exam they are required to score a passing grade in at least four of the papers he has registered upon publication of the GCE results 2022.

There are a few aspects of the Ordinary level that are obligatory to all candidates. If you are to register eleven subjects, Religious studies must be included. English language, mathematics, and French are also compulsory.
